CA: Six Domestic Violence Shelters Close

Six domestic violence shelters in California have been forced to close while dozens more are scaling back services after Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger eliminated all state funding for the program that supports them. A bill would restore the funding but it needs to be moved for a vote in the Assembly and the Senate before week's end.  More
